Position Description

We provide IP-based voice and data services; MPLS networking; data center and managed hosting services; and communication systems to Independent Service Providers, businesses and government agencies. CNI, also, delivers broadband, digital phone and high-definition television services to Independent Communications Providers primarily in rural areas, and we operate a regional fiber optic network spanning western Ohio.

This Account Executive is responsible for selling CNI products and services, which include but are not limited to, Fiber-to-the-Tower, MetroEthernet Transport Services, MPLS, Managed Router Service, CPE and Dedicated Internet with possible on-net solutions. This business segment is primarily focused on the company's higher revenue generating customers. Account Executives focus on prospecting for, and closing deals with, new accounts. After the close of the initial sale, the AE continues to manage the account for future revenue streams.

Account Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility to prospect for new customers in an assigned territory through aggressive prospecting efforts to new businesses
  • Develop relationships and maintain communications with new businesses through various mediums
  • Identify and qualify sales leads and maintain a strong prospect pipeline to ensure above average quota and revenue goal attainment
  • Provide professional and technical advice on business applications to ensure account satisfaction by fulfilling customer needs
  • Respond to customer inquiries that result from outbound prospecting calls to retain and grow existing revenues while securing new accounts
  • Respond to Request for Proposals (RFPs)

Product Responsibilities

  • Represent CNI's entire converged product portfolio with special focus on next Fiber-to-the-Tower and Fiber-to-the-Business transport solutions
  • Maintain a solid understanding of all the major groups and applications associated with these products
  • Coordinate with Engineering and sales support to complete product configuration and ensure successful installation of CPE products

Sales Process Responsibilities

  • Use computer applications to create proposals and/or presentations
  • Input current account information, as well as prospecting account status into CNI pipeline management tool
  • Give onsite presentations to existing and prospective clients while utilizing sales techniques in order to close sales
  • Focus entirely on new streams of revenue through aggressive networking and prospecting
  • Coordinate area-wide technology events for customers and prospects

Job Specifications

  • Strong written, communication and presentation skills are required to create and present proposals, compose routine letters and maintain influential relationships at all levels within the customer's organization
  • Thorough knowledge of telecommunication products and services is required, as well as innovative problem solving skills to influence the sale and diffuse potential customer problems
